WHO WE ARE
Becky Seale, Founder
I am a professionally trained coach, experienced facilitator and social entrepreneur and my life's work is to support mutual flourishing – in work and in society.
I caught the coaching bug while working at health think-tank, The King’s Fund. There I ran leadership courses for health professionals and executives, and for patients and carers. As a facilitator, I saw first-hand how powerful it was to bring people together to learn how to coach each other, as they worked through real-life issues. So, I set up Coaching Communities – a platform and approach to enable peer-led personal development.
As a coach, my focus is to help people access the resources they already have, so that they can direct these towards reaching their potential. I bring in techniques and frameworks that draw on psychology, neuroscience, embodiment practices and mindfulness.
I have a Diploma in Professional Coaching Skills, and I'm a member of the International Coaching Federation. I am also a trained Myers Briggs practitioner and yoga teacher and I love climbing mountains, cycling & foraging food.
Jo Maybin, Associate
I am a skilled coach and group facilitator, and an experienced researcher and writer. I draw on these skills to support leaders who want to work differently to empower communities and frontline staff.
My practice is informed by ideas and tools from across the social sciences which I adapt to suit the needs of my partners and clients. I regularly contribute to collaborative research and writing.
Clients particularly appreciate my catalytic questions, and the way I combine emotional intelligence with analytic rigour. I help them (re)connect with their purpose and find new opportunities and energy for change.
I am a Fellow and Coach at the national health charity The King’s Fund, where I support leaders working in the NHS, local authorities and the voluntary and community sectors to experiment with new ways of working, and to learn as they go.
I am an accredited EMCC Coaching Practitioner and a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. I hold a doctorate from the University of Edinburgh. I am also a mother to two young boys. I love sea swimming, contemporary dance and long walks.
We partner with:
Coaching Communities are skilled networks that empower people to lead their own change, together.
We partner with local communities and organisations who want to want to tackle significant social issues in your patch pragmatically and powerfully, and know you can’t do it alone.
As a social enterprise, our focus is on enabling those who have traditionally been disadvantaged, disempowered or typically led, to take charge and lead change.
Our simple formula
We foster empowered and collaborative action in organisations and communities by giving people skills and a network. It’s a simple formula!
1) seed leadership skills amongst those who are typically ‘led’
2) grow a network of peers who can empower each other to achieve their goals
3) watch them enact ideas that you would never have thought of and take stewardship of them
